38. Sweet Corn

(1) Where used specifically with regard to canned sweet corn

 

(a) "blemished kernel" means a kernel affected by a lesion due to insects or diseases, or of an abnormal colour (excluding grilled kernels);

 

(b) "Tom Kernel" means a sweet corn kernel to which a piece of cob or hard matter adheres; and

 

(c) "Silks" means a long, shiny, thread-like strands of plant material, weak fibres that grow as part of ears of sweet corn; the tuft or tassel of silky fibers that protrude from the tip of the ear of sweet corn.
