Government as a driver of B-BBEE, shareholder of SOEs and regulator of the national economy undertakes to:

 

3.2.4.1Use the process of restructuring of SOEs to promote creative employee and B-BBEE consortia share ownership schemes. Also, it will investigate the awarding of economically viable concession opportunities for provincial and local airports to B-BBEE companies and local communities in the context of a coherent airport master development plan that identifies opportunities to grow the Industry.

 

3.2.4.2Engage public and private sector funding agencies to develop innovative funding mechanisms for B-BBEE business entities seeking to invest in the sector. This will require high-level discussions and workshops with these agencies to inform them about opportunities available in the industry.

 

3.2.4.3Increase awareness among B-BBEE business entities wishing to participate in the industry about available investments, grants and tax allowances, and link these grants/allowances to other incentives that are provided by the DTl's Enterprise Organisation.

 

3.2.4.4Ensure that the industry remains internationally competitive and to undertake that SOEs meaningfully participate in the development and training of skilled personnel required transforming the skills base across the industry.
