69. Commission of Inquiry in terms of Constitution

(1)In the event of any aircraft accident or aircraft incident rising out of or in the cause of air navigation and occurring in or over the Republic or territorial waters thereof the President may appoint a commission of enquiry in terms of section 84(2)(1) of the Constitution to conduct an investigation into the accident and report to him or her thereon.

 

(2)Nothing contained in subsection (1) must be construed as affecting the powers of duties conferred or impose upon judicial offers by the Inquests Act.
