(1) | Transfer and transit cargo and mail arriving by air, for onward carriage by air, need not be screened or searched provided that it was subjected to acceptable security controls at the point of departure and is protected against unlawful interference en route and at the transit points in terms of Document SA-CATS 108. |
(2) | Transfer and transit cargo or mail arriving by air, road, rail or sea for onward carriage by air that has not been subjected to security controls at the point of departure or en route and at the transit points, should be treated as unknown cargo and screened or searched accordingly. |
