43.02.8 Mandatory inspections

(1)Mandatory tests and inspections shall be carried in accordance with the approved maintenance programme for a particular aircraft at the prescribed times or intervals.

 

(2)Mandatory inspections include—
(a)for aeroplanes with a maximum certificated mass of 5 700 kg or less and with a maximum approved passenger seating configuration of not more than 9 seats, and for helicopters with a maximum certificated mass of 3 175 kg or less, and with a maximum approved passenger seating configuration of not more than 9 seats, either—
(i) a mandatory periodic inspection; and
(ii)inspections in accordance with an approved inspection programme;
(b)for any aircraft, other than those referred to in paragraph (a), the approved maintenance schedule for the particular category and type of aircraft at the intervals prescribed by the schedule.

 

(3)The maintenance programme referred to in subregulation (1) are defined in Document SA-CATS 43.
