62.17.5 Skills test

(1) An applicant for the issuing of an initial type rating by name for touring motor gliders shall have demonstrated to the holder of a Grade B or Grade A touring motor glider flight instructor rating, the ability to perform, as PIC of a touring motor glider, the procedures and manoeuvres as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 62, with a degree of competency appropriate to the privileges granted to the holder of a national pilot licence.

 

(2) The applicant shall undergo the skills test, referred to in subregulation (1), within 12 months of passing the theoretical knowledge examination referred to in regulation 62.17.4 and within 60 days immediately preceding the date of application.
