12. Remuneration and travelling and subsistence allowances of presiding officers:

(1)In respect of remuneration

R620.00 per hour or part of an hour with a maximum of R1 860.00 per day for attending meetings, hearings or for the investigations of any matter.

 

(2)In respect of a signed copy of Reasons for Finding when requested—

R400 per hearing.

 

(3)In respect of subsistence

An allowance R120,00 for every 24 hours and R5,00 for every full hour thereafter or actual expenses, provided such expense is in the opinion of the Commissioner reasonable.

 

(4)The actual costs of public transport or paid in terms of Transport Handbook on Tariffs for the use of Motor Transport as amended; and (Private) [Amendment No 7 of 2007 of the Annexure to Transport Circular No 1 of 1997].

 

(5)In respect of entitlement to claim, cancellations or postponement of hearing, late submission of reasons of finding and claim form—
(5.1)In respect of entitlement to claim
(5.1.1)No claim shall be processed unless the following:

Claim form is duly signed and completed by the panel member.

Original parking, toll fees and meals receipts are attached.

(5.2.1)Cancellations or postponement

The following shall apply to every postponement or cancellation of a hearing:

(a)A panelist shall have the discretion to charge up to 75% of the full fee for an hearing that has been confirmed in writing by the Compensation Fund and where the hearing is cancelled I postponed by the Compensation Fund within one working day before the day set for the hearing.
(b)A panelist shall have the discretion to charge up to 50% of the full fee for a hearing that has been confirmed in writing by the Compensation Fund and where the hearing is cancelled I postponed within four days before they set for the hearing.
(c)A panelist shall not be entitled to claim where the hearing is cancelled within five working days.
