1) | A person granted day parole remains a sentenced offender while in a correctional centre and is otherwise a person subject to community corrections but- |
a) | such person may wear his or her own clothing whilst he or she is on day parole; and |
b) | if he or she can afford it, must pay for board and lodging and medical services. |
2) | The Minister, National Commissioner, Correctional Supervision and Parole Board, court or other body must decide on the duration of placement on day parole and must inform the Head of the Correctional Centre who must inform the sentenced offender concerned of that determination. |
3) | A person on day parole who fails to report at prison is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction of the penalty prescribed in section 117. |
