53. Conditions of service in Controlled Reserve

(1)The conditions of service in the Controlled Reserve shall be as prescribed, and any member of that Reserve referred to in section 46(1)(a)(i) shall in respect of any service performed or required to be performed in pursuance of this Act, be deemed to be a member of the Permanent Force.

 

(2)Notwithstanding the provisions of section 46(2), any such member of the Controlled Reserve contemplated in that subsection who has been called up or out, as the case may be, for service in terms of the provisions of this Act may, with his consent, or shall, in pursuance of action taken under the Military Discipline Code, be required to serve in a rank lower than that which he holds in the said Reserve.
