Designs Act, 1993 (Act No. 195 of 1993)29. Assignment and devolution by operation of law |
(1) | The rights vested in an applicant for the registration of a design or a registered proprietor shall be capable of assignment and of devolution by operation of law. |
(2) | Any condition in a contract of employment which— |
(a) | requires an employee to assign to his employer a design made by him otherwise than within the course of his employment; or |
(b) | restricts the right of an employee in a design made by him more than one year after the termination of the contract of employment, |
shall be null and void.
