Directives in terms of Section 18A of the Act

In these directives any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Act or the Regulations has that meaning and, unless the context otherwise indicates—

 

'after-hours'

means the hours outside of the normal court hours, including tea and lunch times, weekends and public holidays;

 

'Code'

means the Code of Conduct for clerks of courts dealing with domestic violence;

 

'Director-General'

means the Director-General: Justice and Constitutional Development;

 

'e-justice system'

includes, but is not limited to, the integrated case management system, online portal, integrated electronic repository, protection order management system and virtual hearings;

 

'the Act'

means the Domestic Violence Act, 1998 (Act No. 116 of 1998); and

 

'the Regulations'

means the Domestic Violence Regulations made in terms of section 19 of the Act.
