| (1) | The amount to be deposited in terms of section 27(2) of the Act is— |
| (a) | Three hundred thousand rand (R300,000-00) in respect of a party contesting an election of the National Assembly in all nine regions and for compensatory seats; |
| (aA) | two hundred and twenty-five thousand rand (R225 000-00) in respect of a party contesting an election for compensatory seats in the National Assembly and in one region: Provided that a party contemplated in this paragraph contesting an election for the National Assembly in more than one region shall deposit twenty-five thousand rand (R25 000-00) in respect of each additional region it contests; and |
| (b) | fifty thousand rand (R50 000-00) in respect of an election of a provincial legislature. |

| (a) | twenty thousand Rand (R20 000-00) in respect of each election for the National Assembly; and |
| (b) | fifteen thousand Rand (R15 000-00) in respect of an election of a provincial legislature. |

| (2) | The deposit must be paid— |
| (a) | [Regulation 3(2)(a) deleted by section 5(5.5) of the Amendment to the Regulations Concerning the Submission of Candidates, 2024, Notice No. 4304, GG50066, dated 1 February 2024]; |
| (b) | by way of electronic funds transfer using a payment reference number generated for that purpose by the CNS system; or |
| (c) | by using the internet payment gateway functionality available for that purpose on the CNS system. |

| (3) | If a party or an independent candidate pays the deposit in the manner contemplated in subregulation (2)(b), such party or independent candidate must submit written proof of such payment to the Commission— |
| (a) | by hand to the office of the chief electoral officer situated at Election House, Riverside Office Park, 1303 Heuwel Avenue, Centurion; or |
| (b) | by uploading it onto the CNS system, |
by no later than the date stated in the timetable for the submission of the documents contemplated in section 27(1) or 31B(3).
