(1) | A medical practitioner, dentist or other person registered in terms of this Act— |
(a) | may compound or dispense medicines only on the authority and subject to the conditions of a licence granted by the Director-General in terms of the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 1965 (Act No. 101 of 1965); |
(b) | shall not be entitled to keep an open shop or pharmacy. |
(2) | For the purposes of this section 'open shop' means a situation where the supply of medicines and scheduled substances to the public is not done by prescription by a person authorised to prescribe medicine. |
