10. Appointment of Principal

(1) Subject to section 31(1) of the Act, the advertising of the post, the invitation for nominations of and applications by candidates, the search for suitable candidates, the criteria for the short-listing of candidates and the interviewing and appointment processes are in the manner determined by the Council and the Institutional Rules of the University.

 

(2) The Council shall, after consultation with the Senate and the Institutional Forum, appoint the Principal: Provided that when the first term of a Principal has expired, and he or she is reappointed for a period which, together with any previous period(s) of office as Principal, does not exceed ten years, consultation with the Senate and the Institutional Forum is not compulsory.
