Clause 50 - Wage increase

(1) Employees employed in the Furniture, Bedding, Upholstery and Curtain Manufacturing Industry and are to receive the following wage increases:

 

(a) Wage Increase - Foreman, Supervisors, Charge-hands, Skilled and Semi-Skilled and Unskilled Categories
(i) Increase on Actual Wage Rates
(a) Increase on actual wage rates per category as from the first full pay week in April 2025 for parties and for non-parties from the date as determined by the Minister are as follows:—

 

Hourly wage rates

To and including R47.00

Between R47.01 - R70.00

4.5%

Between R70.01 - R75.00

R75.01 and above

To be agreed at factory level

 

(b) Increase on actual wage rates per category as from the first full pay week in April 2026 are as follows:—

R75.01 and above

To be agreed at factory level

 

If the CPI falls outside the range of 3% - 6% at the end of February 2026, wage increases shall be renegotiated.

 

(b)Prescribed Minimum Wage Rates
(i)Prescribed Minimum Wage Rates increase per category as from the 1st full pay week in April 2023 for parties and for non-parties from the date as determined by the Minister are as follows:—

 

ACROSS THE BOARD WAGE INCREASES FOR ALL CATEGORIES AS FROM FIRST FULL PAY WEEK IN APRIL 2025 FOR PARTIES AND NON-PARTIES FROM THE DATE DETERMINED BY THE MINISTER and APRIL 2026 RESPECTIVELY

 

(i)Year 1 - 4.5% on unskilled wage.
(ii)Year 1 - 6% on semi-skilled, skilled, charge hand, foreman and supervisor.

 

(iii)Year 2 - As per the National Minimum Wage increase.
(iv)Year 2 - 6% on semi-skilled, skilled, charge hand, foreman and supervisor.

 

Minimum hourly wage rates of occupational skill levels will be as follows from the dates as indicated:
