| (1) | On referral of an application by the Director-General, the Judge President of the Court or a judge of the Court nominated by him or her may give such directions as he or she considers appropriate as to the procedure to be followed for the application be heard by the Court. |
| (2) | The Director-General may appoint as arbitrator a person nominated by the parties in terms of section 18(8), but shall not be obliged to appoint a person nominated by the parties. |
