DEFINING OF PRODUCTION AREA: LEIPOLDTVILLE-SANDVELD

The Leipoldville-Sandveld district mainly fills the gap between the Coastal and Olifants River regions. The sandy soils of the area are mostly irrigated with pivot points. It is roughly 70 km from north to south and 30 km from west to east. It contains the towns of Graafwater and Leipoldtville.

The generally northern boundary includes Schuins Vlei 437 and to the west it borders the inland boundary of the Coastal Region. The southern border is divided with the northern boundary of Swartland district where it then moves northwards with the western boundary of the Olifants River region.
