Latest Developments:

 

The Maintenance Act, 1998 (Act No. 99 of 1998), has been amended by Regulations Relating to Maintenance, Chapter 1 : Complaints and Investigations, 5. Subsistence and Travelling allowances, Notice No. R966 dated 6 September 2017.

 

The Act has been amended by the Judicial Matters Second Amendment Act no. 55 of 2004 (GG No. 26206 dated 31 March 2004) and the Judicial Matters Amendment Act No. 22 of 2005 (GG No. 28391 dated 11 January 2006).

The Regulations relating to Maintenance have been added to the Act as published in Gazette 20627 dated the 15 November 1999, and came into operation on the 26 November 1999.

This Act came into operation on the 26 November 1999, with the exception of section 5 and section 7(1)(d) and (2).

The Maintenance Act, 1998, was added to the site on 12 August, as published in Government Gazette 19513 dated 27 November 1998.
