145. Power of court to rescind contract between owner or master and seafarer

When any proceedings are instituted in any court of competent jurisdiction in relation to any dispute between an owner or master of a South African ship and a seafarer, arising out of or incidental to their relation as such, the court may in its discretion rescind any contract between the owner or master and the seafarer upon such terms as the court may think just, and this power shall be in addition to any other jurisdiction which the court may have.
