(1) | A safety convention certificate or a local safety certificate which has expired or has been cancelled shall on demand be surrendered by the owner or master of the ship to the Authority. |
(2) | If any certificate required to be surrendered under subsection (1) is not surrendered, the Authority may cause the ship to be detained until the certificate is surrendered. |
