(1) | A candidate for examination for a licence shall be required to pass a colour and form vision test, similar to that described in the Examination Regulations for Certificates of Competency for Deck Officers 1985, published by Government Notice No. R. 2656 of 29 November 1985, unless he is in possession of a certificate of pass in such a test issued not more than six months prior to the date of the examination applied for. |
(2) | The standard required in the test referred to in subregulation (1) shall be a pass in the colour lantern test and in the letter test. A candidate who uses aids to vision shall be required to read correctly four of the five letters in the fifth line without such aids and to read correctly the seventh line with such aids. Should the candidate not wear aids to vision, he shall be required to read correctly five of the six letters in the sixth line and four of the seven letters in the seventh line. |
