In the event of a seaman losing his or her life by reason of the wreck, loss, abandonment, flooding, stranding, fire on board or collision of a ship on which the seaman was employed, compensation on the basis provided for in regulation 3 for the loss of his or her property shall be payable by the owner of the ship to the estate of the deceased seaman.
