Merchant Shipping Act, 1951 (Act No. 57 of 1951)

Before the renewal of any certificate the Authority must carry out a renewal audit of the company or ship during the six month period preceding the expiry date of the Document of Compliance or Safety Management Certificate, as the case may be, to ensure that compliance with the requirements of the ISM Code is maintained.
