9. Staff

(1)The Ombud must appoint staff to assist him or her in the performance of his or her functions in terms of this Act.

 

(2)The remuneration and other terms and conditions of service of the staff must be determined by the Ombud, with the concurrence of the Minister and the Minister of Finance.

 

(3)The appointment of the Ombud, Deputy Ombud or the staff contemplated in subsection (1) may not be confirmed unless they have been issued with the appropriate or provisional grade of security clearance by the lntelligence Division of the Defence Force contemplated in section 33 of the Defence Act.
