3. Status of Mandatory COP

This section must contain statements to the effect that:

 

3.1 The mandatory COP was drawn up in accordance with Guideline DMR Reference Number: DMR 16/3/2/1-A6 issued by the Chief Inspector of Mines;

 

3.2This is a mandatory COP in terms of sections 9(2) and 9(3) of the MHSA;

 

3.3The COP may be used in an accident investigation/inquiry to ascertain compliance and also to establish whether the COP is effective and fit for purpose;

 

3.4The COP supersedes all previous relevant COPs; and

 

3.5All managerial instructions or recommended procedures (Voluntary COPs) and standards on the relevant topics must comply with the COP and must be reviewed to ensure compliance.
