7. Requirements when applying for the export of hazardous waste

(1)An application for the export of hazardous waste submitted to the competent authority must include the following—
(a)a letter of request from the exporter;
(b)a completed notification form where required by the country of import;
(c)a waste management licence for the receiving waste treatment facility or equivalent legal document in the country of import;
(d)a contract between an exporter and an importer;
(e)applicable insurance or other financial guarantee covering the movement of waste and environmental clean-up in case of an incident; and
(f)safety data sheet (SDS) for the waste.

 

(2)An applicant must obtain consent from the competent authority before exporting any hazardous waste.

 

(3)No export of hazardous waste shall commence without consent from the competent authority of the country of transit, where applicable.
