The Minister of Energy has under section 2(1)(f) of the Petroleum Products Act, 1977 (Act No. 120 of 1977), made the Regulations in the Schedule.

 

Schedule

 

Definitions

 

1.In these Regulations, any word or phrase to which a meaning has been assigned in the Petroleum Products Acts, 1977 (Act No. 120 of 1977), shall have the meaning so assigned and, unless the context otherwise indicates "petroleum products" means petrol, diesel, illuminating paraffin and liquefied petroleum gas.

 

Display of Prices

 

2. Any person who conducts an activity of selling petroleum products to end consumers must prominently display electronically or manually the prices at which such petroleum products are available for sale at the point of entrance to a place where petroleum products are sold.

 

3.The Prices displayed as contemplated in regulation 2 must display—
(a)the retail prices of petrol as sold at a licensed site by a licensed dealer at the retail prices prescribed by the Minister of Energy and published in the Government Gazette on a monthly basis;
(b)the retail prices of diesel as sold from a licensed site by a licensed retailer;
(c)the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas per kilogram as set by a retailer;
(d)the retail price of illuminating paraffin as sold from a licensed site by a licensed retailer at the retail price prescribed by the Minister of Energy and published in the Government Gazette on a monthly basis; and
(e)the retail price of illuminating paraffin as sold from the premises of a retailer other than a licensed retailer at the retail price prescribed by the Minister of Energy and published in the Government Gazette on a monthly basis.
