To give effect to the right to administrative action that is lawful, reasonable and procedurally fair and to the right to written reasons for administrative action as contemplated in section 33 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.

The Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 (Act No. 3 of 2000) has been amended by the Judicial Matters Amendment Act, 2015 (Act No. 24 of 2015) GG 39587, Notice No. 21 dated 8 January 2016.

 

The Act has been amended by the Judicial Matters Amendment Act, 2008 (Act No. 66 of 2008) as published in Government Gazette No. 31908 dated 17 February 2009.

 

The Act has been amended by the Judicial Matters Second Amendment Act No. 55 of 2004 (GG No. 26206 dated 31 March 2004) and the Judicial Matters Amendment Act No. 22 of 2005 (GG No. 28391 dated 11 January 2006.

The Act has been amended by the Promotion of Administrative Justice Amendment Act, 2002 as gazetted in GG 24354 dated 6 February, 2003.

The Regulations on Fair Administrative Procedures, 2002 have been added to the Act. These came into effect on 31 July 2002.

Notice No. 2844 of 2000, regarding the Implementation of the Act, has been added, as published in Gazette 21470 and dated 11 August 2000.

The Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000, has been added to the site on 14 February 2000.
