| (1) | Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, a member of the Standing Committee is appointed for any period not exceeding five years at a time and may be reappointed for any number of additional periods, any of which may not exceed five years at a time. |
| (2) | A member may resign by tendering a written notice of resignation to the Minister. |
