I, Jeffrey Thamsanqa Radebe, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, acting under section 31(1)(a) of the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-related Information Act, 2002 (Act No. 70 of 2002), hereby prescribe the forms of assistance as set out in Column 1 of the Schedule for which a postal service provider must be compensated in accordance with the tariffs prescribed in Column 2 of the Schedule.

Forms of assistance

Tariffs of compensation

a)The tracing or assistance rendered in the tracing of a postal article as identified in the direction.
b)The taking into possession and safekeeping of the postal article intercepted in terms of the direction.
c)The handing over of the postal article intercepted in terms of the direction to the person who served the direction on the postal service provider.
d)Repossession of the postal article from the person who served the direction on the postal service provider and introducing it in the system of the postal service provider.

An all inclusive tariff of-

a)R350,00 in respect of a registered postal article; or
b)R500,00 in respect of an unregistered postal article,

is payable to the postal service provider for providing all or any of the forms of assistance prescribed in Column 1 in respect of a specific direction.
