Under the powers vested in me by sections 7(1), 8(5)(a) and 9(5)(a) of the Remuneration of Public Office-bearers Act, 1998 (Act No. 20 of 1998), I, Dr Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini Zuma, Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, after consideration of the recommendations of the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers, hereby—

 

(a) after consultation with the member of the Executive Council responsible for local government in each province; and

 

(b) after taking into consideration the matters listed in paragraphs (a) to (i) of section 7(1) of the Act,

 

determine a zero percent (0%) cost of living adjustments of upper limits of salaries, allowances and benefits of the different members of municipal councils for the 2020/21 municipal financial year.

 

Government Gazette No. 43246 of 24 April 2020 remains applicable.
