22. Savings

(1)At the commencement of this Act anything done in terms of the provisions of the Scientific Research Council Act, 1984 (Act No. 82 of 1984), prior to such commencement and which may be done in terms of the provisions of this Act, shall be deemed to have been done in terms of the latter provisions.

 

(2)If at the commencement of this Act any matter has not been disposed of by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research or a committee thereof, the Board established in terms of this Act may continue with the disposal of the matter in accordance with the provisions of this Act, and anything done in connection with that matter shall be deemed to have been done by the Board.

 

(3)Any regulation made by the State chief executive officer under section 20 of the Scientific Research Council Act, 1984, and in force at the repeal of that Act by section 23 of this Act shall, notwithstanding such repeal, remain in force after the commencement of this Act in so far as it deals with any matter in respect of which the Minister may make regulations under section 18, until it is replaced by a regulation made under section 18.

 

(4)The conditions of service and the remuneration applicable to the incumbent of the post of chief executive officer when this Act comes into operation, shall not be altered without his or her approval.
