9. Committees for specific purposes

(1)The Board may nominate one or more committees, which may subject to the instructions of the Board, perform those functions of the Board that the Board may determine.

 

(2)Such a committee shall consist of one or more members of the Board, including employees of the CSIR or any other person with suitable skills and experience, as the Board deems necessary, and the Board may at any time dissolve or reconstitute such a committee.

(3)The Board shall designate a member of the committee as chairperson thereof.

(4)The Board shall pay the members of a committee referred to in sub-section (1) who are not employees of the CSIR the remuneration and allowances determined by the National Treasury from time to time.

(5)The Board shall not be absolved from any functions performed in terms of the provisions of this section by any committee of the Board.
