22. Functions of the Chairperson

22.1Every Chairperson must, with regard to the Authority or Committee, he/she chairs:
22.1.1Allow any member to nominate from among its members to act as convenor of such a Committee for communication purposes. If no member is nominated as a convenor, the Chairperson may appoint any member of that Committee as convenor;
22.1.2Cause meetings to be convened;
22.1.3Ensure the orderly conduct of meetings and that all resolutions are recorded.

 

22.2If the Chairperson of the Authority is unable to attend a meeting, the deputy chairperson shall chair the meeting;

 

22.3If the Chairperson of a permanent Committee is unable to attend a meeting, the Chief Executive Officer may designate another employee of the Authority to chair the meeting.
