By virtue of the powers vested in me by section 19(1)(a) of the South African Reserve Bank Act (Act No. 90 of 1989), I hereby declare—
(a) | that the second series of the "Africa's Big 5" coins, as set out in Section (a) of the Second Schedule to the said Act, which will be manufactured, and will be issued by virtue of section 16(1) of the said Act, will be legal tender as from 1 January 2021; and |
(b) | that the design of the said coins will be the designs as shown and which are attached to this notice; and |
(c) | that the specifications of the said coin are as follows: |

The ‘Africa’s Big 5’ second series consists of a range of coins with varing specifications and denominations. Each range
of 5 coins, irrespective of the specifications and denominations, depict the same design of each of the five animals on the
reverse and obverse. Therefore only the 1oz pure gold series of five coins is featured below.
