(1) | The ports, points and places of entry or exit at the commencement of this Act are— |
(a) | those designated by the Minister in terms of section 9A of the Immigration Act, 2002 (Act No. 13 of 2002); |
(b) | those appointed or prescribed by the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service in terms of section 6 of the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (Act No. 91 of 1964); and |
(c) | those determined by the Minister responsible for Agriculture in terms of the Agricultural Pests Act, 1983 (Act No. 36 of 1983), the Agricultural Product Standards Act, 1990 (Act No.119 of 1990), the Animal Diseases Act, 1984 (Act No. 35 of 1984) and the Animal Health Act, 2002 (Act No.7 of 2002). |
(2) | Subject to section 30(3) and in order to ensure consistency and integration of the different functions, the Minister may withdraw or cancel a designation, determination, appointment or prescription of a port, point or place of entry or exit under— |
(a) | subsection (1)(b), in consultation with the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service; or |
(b) | subsection (1)(c), after consultation with the Minister of Agriculture, as the case may be. |
