4. Retention of Records

1)Subject to the provisions of the Act, the minimum period of retention of any record to be kept by a company under the Act, shall be the period specified in Schedule 2 to these regulations, and such period shall, where applicable, run from the date of a particular record or the date of the last entry in a particular record referred to in the said Schedule.

 

2)Notwithstanding the provisions of subregulation (1), the original of any record of a company which has been reproduced on microfilm and duly certified in terms of regulation 2(2) may be destroyed after a period of three years from the date on which the record concerned has been so reproduced.
