127. Unauthorised disclosure of information

Any correctional or custody official or any person in the service of the Department or in the employ of the Contractor or a subcontractor who unlawfully discloses information in circumstances in which he or she knows, or could reasonably be expected to know, that such a disclosure may prejudicially affect the exercise or the performance by the Department of its powers or functions under this Act, or that of a Contractor in terms of the contract, is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine or, in default of payment, to incarceration for a period not exceeding two years or to such incarceration without the option of a fine or both.
