In these Regulations, any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in section 1 of the Act, shall have that meaning and, unless the context otherwise indicates—
means the Electoral Commission Act, 1996 (Act 51 of 1996); and
has the meaning assigned to it in section 1 of the Electoral Act, 1998 (Act No. 73 of 1998) and includes a person nominated in terms of section 16(1)(b) of the Local Government: Municipal Electoral Act, 2000 (Act No. 27 of 2000).

means a party registered in terms of Chapter 4 of the Act;
means the Electoral Commission established in terms of the Act.
