27.1 | Employers must offer the Affinity Reef option as a primary health scheme for the Employee only (no other dependants). The initial Employer contribution rate to not exceed R221-00 per month. Provided that the Employer contribution to the scheme in any year will not increase by more than the average CPI for the preceding 12 months (capped to a maximum of 6%). |
27.2 | Once the NHI comes in and the Employer is required to contribute to the NHI, this scheme will terminate to avoid double funding of primary health care. |
27.3 | The scheme will be offered as an optional scheme to Employees who currently do not have a formal primary health scheme or membership of a formal medical aid scheme in place. |
27.4 | This benefit will not be revisited within the next 3 years (other than if point 2 applies). |
27.5 | This benefit will be implemented for both parties and non-parties on the 1st day of the month following the month in which the agreement is extended by the Minister of Employment and Labour. |
