| (1) | The Minister of Public Service and Administration determined, in terms of section 3(4)(b)(i) of the Public Service Act, 1994, the following functions for the COMSEC: |
| (a) | Protecting and securing electronic communications of national importance against security threats; |
| (b) | conducting periodic analysis of the state of security of the critical electronic communications and infrastructure of organs of state and advising the Minister on such analysis; and |
| (c) | identifying and providing security to the critical electronic communications infrastructure of organs of state. |
| (2) | The Head must ensure the performance of the functions of COMSEC. |
