The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) was established in 2000 and has been mandated in accordance with South African legislation as the body that grades all categories of accommodation in South Africa. The aim of the TGCSA is to establish and maintain a recognisable and credible globally benchmarked system of quality assurance for accommodation and MESE (Meetings, Exhibitions and Special Events) experiences in South Africa. This document contains the definitions of the standard operating procures for TGCSA operations.
1.1 Objectives
The objective this document is to:

1.3 Business Rule
For properties to achieve an accolade for recognition, all listed requirements must be met. Achieving an accolade allows the establishment to carry the TGCSA approved icon for the accolade on marketing collateral. Properties that have been awarded accolades will form an integral part of TGCSA website and search criteria.
