(1)
(a) | Wine obtained from grapes that were pressed by virtue of an authority shall— |
(i) | only be distilled on the estate where those grapes were harvested; and |
(ii) | comply with the standards determined by the Authority under section 9 of the Wine and Spirit Control Act, 1970 (Act No. 47 of 1970). |
(b) | The apparatus used for such distillation shall form part of the permanent equipment of the estate concerned: Provided that wine intended for the production of pot still brandy referred to in section 9(1) of the Wine and Spirit Control Act, 1970 (Act No. 47 of 1970), may also be distilled in a mobile pot still on the estate concerned. |
(2)
(a) | A participant shall notify the Authority at least one working day beforehand of the date on which the distillation of the wine concerned will commence. |
(b) | Such notice shall also specify— |
(i) | the reference number of the relevant production sheet or blending sheet; and |
(ii) | the address of the estate concerned. |
(3) | Such a participant shall record the applicable particulars on a distillate record obtainable from the Authority for this purpose, and on the production sheet or blending sheet concerned. |
