Estate Brandy Scheme

18. Seals on containers

(1)Estate brandy shall only be presented for certification in accordance with the provisions of section 19 of the Scheme after a seal obtainable on application from the Authority for this purpose has been affixed to each container of that estate brandy.

 

(2)Such seals shall—
(a)be issued by the Authority only after the labels to be affixed to the containers of the estate brandy concerned have been approved in terms of section 17 of this Scheme; and
(b)be affixed to the containers of the estate brandy concerned in the manner determined by the Authority.

 

(3)The applicable fee determined by the Authority for this purpose shall be payable in respect of seals thus issued.

 

(4)A person to whom seals have been issued shall during the course of each working day record the applicable particulars in connection with the affixing thereof to containers, on the applicable distillate record.

 

(5)Unused or damaged seals shall within eight months of the date of issue thereof, or at the time of presentation of the estate brandy concerned for certification whichever date may be the earlier, be returned
